Let Your Heart Be Light DIY

I am such a huge fan of this girl. She recently posted a DIY christmas lyric project I just had to try. It turned out pretty good considering I didn't have a printer (I had to trace all the letters from the computer screen).

Turned out pretty great! I'm thinking about stringing the words instead of putting them directly onto the wall. If you want to check out Katie's version or want the steps for this project look here.

10 pretty little things I love (and want!)

1.
This plum-colored sheer dress looks so loose and airy. I like this because
I can also wear it with leggings and a cardigan during the winter.

2.
EEE! A little red riding hood thermos. How cute.

3.
A vintage record player. I've been looking through different antique/vintage boutiques and haven't been able to find one. They have some pretty cute ones on etsy. This is a picture of one I found through a blog I read frequently.

4.
These lacey "Take the Tea Cake Shorts" from ModCloth are kind of pricey but I love the material. These are on my christmas list for sure.

5.
Urban Outfitters art. I have this weird obsession with owls lately.

6.
Concrete Jungle Shorts in Olive! Forever 21 has really pretty things right now.
 cute cute cute.

7.
Another gem from Forever 21, a fan print shift dress. I like the belt but it is also cute without one.
Some cute black pattern or plum colored tights would look great with this.

8.
Only $12.68 on amazon! This book includes profiles of 20 different creative women. Each has a little how-to craft and pictures of their home and studios.

9.

I want a vintage typewriter so bad! Found this mint green one on etsy.
It makes me feel like Joan on Mad Men.
(:
10.
There are only 4 left of these velvet blue pumps.
But how precious are they?
Unfortunately, the 4 left aren't in my size :(

forever summer

This is the first maxi skirt I have ever purchased...I was a little nervous because I don't normally wear long skirts. I saw one of my friends wearing a similar one and I feel in love! I think it turned out pretty cute with my skin tone. like like like.

a day for ice cream-continued.

My fella's the best. I've been feeling down lately, and Daniel took me out the other day for ice cream and a walk in the park. Afterwards we walked barefoot and went swinging. I like him<3
(His bright blue ice cream was bubble gum, and I had espresso chip of course).

inspirations

I feel like today was a pretty productive day. I printed out some pictures of Lily and I from our photoshoot in the park a couple weeks ago. We put them up in frames in our hallway. They look pretty cute. As soon as I get some extra cash I am going to purchase more film for Ruby and try to mimick the picture posted above.  I would ideally like to put the instax photos above/slightly behind the couch. I made a caprese salad for lunch today, and was inspired by the greatness of it that I decided to make lunch for the next week. Baked chicken with lemon, red onions, a red bell pepper chopped up, and quinoa. YUM.  Also, Lily and I got an AIR POPPER! Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
ps. I found this pic via A Beautiful Mess.
hope your wednesday was just as inspirational!

visit to ballard

This Sunday/Monday was filled with my two favorite little boys! Britt, the boys, and I had quite the little adventures. The big surprise was seeing Cars 2 in Northgate. We had so much fun, Liam was so tired and was falling asleep sitting up, too funny. Monday morning we got up, walked down to get some yummy coffee at this cute little place where you can mail letters, postcards, packages, anything AND get your morning dose of Seattle coffee. It was called Sip and Ship, so cute. We hit a few consignment shops, went home to grab some blueberries and peanut butter sandwhiches, and ended the day at target looking for goodies to decorate their new home. I love these little guys, Brittany has done such an amazing job with them. I had the most wonderful two days.
